What a wonderful article. Just a quick note on Mr. Girard and Braniff: Mr. Girard designed for Braniff during 1965 and 1966. We hired noted Hollywood designer Mr. Chuck Ax to takeover from there and he remained with us along with Harper and George (yes, Irving Harper and Phil George), which together created some of our most memorable designs including the elegant styles at our new DFW Airport dubbed The Braniff Terminal. The dinosaur you refer to is our famed Braniff Plesiosaur, which was discovered during the excavation for Braniff's DFW Terminal in 1973. We paid to have the Plesiosaur restored with both its real fossils and manufactured replacements including the massive head of the creature. Braniff is still here today! Thank you Jessica Martin, Vice President Sales, Braniff International
Thanks so much for all this information, Jessica! The quote from Todd Oldham that includes the note about the dinosaur is from Scratching the Surface (linked in my post)—it might be worth sharing the added context with their team.
Ohhh, that's a perfect use for the Hay shelves!! Have looked at them in the past but I need mainly book storage and couldn't figure out how to make the depth work, but this is so good. Looks amazing & so functional - radical transparency appreciated lol. Also is this a safe space to brag that at my old job I got to meet Kevin Roche shortly before he passed (and he was still quite funny from the v. limited interaction I had)? Def bookmarking the doc!
Thank you so much!! They definitely tested me.. lol. I'm always here for a brag!! After watching the doc I read this thread on Reddit where people who'd interacted with him in passing were saying the same - love to hear it. I think a sense of his personality really comes through in the doc which isn't always the case w these things. I know him mostly through his work in New York but they talk about his buildings in Columbus in the doc which was particularly interesting to me
Heyooo
LOVE!
As a person who makes magazines I also have some storage issues. I love the flip-through crate!

THE KARTELL RACK. I need to find it stateside..
I got mine from Odd Eye a couple years ago for a pretty solid price, wouldn't be surprised if he sells more of em at some point 😈
I too have had serious magazine storage issues in the past due to the general weight of them! I really like that these can be easily accessed too
Totaaallly, when I first started using them I was worried that they would bend too much to the weight of the magazines, but they don't thankfully!
